A/N:
Well, I started this story on whim in my livejournal some time ago, and have now decided to put it up here...maybe because I have nothing better to do today than fuck with html, but be that as it may, I'm hoping to get a few more reviews for it. I want to know what people think. I've only had one faithful reader of it, which shows the sorry state of my live journal *laughs* at any rate, here we go. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it.

Saints and Angels

The park was nearly empty today, not a surprising thing, since the park wasn't one of the more well known ones in the city. The path Michael and his roommate, David, were taking stretched the park...with it's dying brown grass and haunted looking trees...it came out across from the back parking lot of the community college both attended. It had been pure chance that had lead them to this, cutting blocks from their walking time.
David slowed, in the distance, the building of sand colored stone was in evidence over the top of the branches of trees...Michael frowned, looking to his friend's eyes in confusion, turning his head slowly when the man nodded ahead, most likely indicating people.
The first thing Michael noticed was the black clothing, followed shortly by the silver spikes on much of the jewelry the guys were wearing...chokers, cuffs, chains...a few even wore eye make-up or black lip-stick...nail-polish. The group consisted of about seven males, all approximately the same age of David and he.
Michael looked away quickly upon realizing that each person in the group was watching him with equal interest, none even remotely embarrassed to be caught...the next thing Michael noticed was the piercings. Lips, upper ears, eyebrows, nose. They were also all wearing black...their shirts displaying sarcastic comments on life or questioning the wearer's sanity.
Michael looked to David, slightly uneasy, there wasn't a single female in the group...not that this fact bothered him, it was just something he noticed. He realized he was slowing to a stop.
"Michael." David muttered, meaning for them to continue on.
"Michael?" One of the guys asked, his interest obviously peaked. By his stance, he was the leader of the group, and just as self-confident as the rest.
Michael turned back to him, not sure what to expect, "Yes?" he asked politely. Ten to two did not seem like odds in his favor.
"An angel's name." the guy seemed amused by this, and if the fact that he had a cross carved into his arm meant anything, Michael had come across a fetish. The man crossed the distance between them in light steps, eyes never leaving Michael's as he stopped in Michael's personal space, "Are you a man of God, Michael?" he purred.
The voice unnerved Michael for some reason, he studied the guy a moment longer, not quite feeling submissive, but slightly dominated, as if the man had become accustomed to respect, "No." Michael replied easily, feeling no need to lie. He did not...precisely...feel threatened.
The man smiled again, draping a companionable arm over Michael's shoulders as his friends fanned out behind David and they began down the path again as if they hadn't been two separate groups before. "So tell me, Michael, what say you to a night out?" he glanced back to David, his brown eyes sparkling, his black...somewhat shaggy...hair swaying with the motion as they neared the trees that marked the end of the path.
"I don't even know your name." Michael muttered, shocked.
"So it's a date now?" the guy's teeth flashed in an almost feral grin, "And here I thought women were more my style." he grinned over his shoulder to his friends, a few of whom snickered.
Michael didn't know why, but he felt strangely confident with this man, secure in who he was, he studied the other's eyes, not fighting the infectious grin, "I had the same thought myself," he replied easily, then shrugged slightly, "But hell, I've never tested it."
The man laughed delightedly again, stopping as they reached the head of the path, glancing the school over briefly before looking back to Michael and David, "Meet us here at six." he directed, looking Michael over, "Dress appropriately."
      "Appropriately?" David asked sarcastically.
The guy spread his arms slightly, stepping back to be fully in view, "Appropriately." he agreed.
"I don't have anything like that." Michael muttered, frowning...noting distantly that David was staring at him as if he'd lost his mind.
The guy nodded, his black hair blowing back as the wind picked up slightly, rustling the nearby branches, "I'm not surprised." he informed them, then looked to his friends once again, "Tell me your size, give me some cash, and I'll suit ya up."
"Michael." David warned at the word 'cash', he wasn't so sure his roommate was in his right mind, after all.
Michael snorted, "I'll pay ya back."
"Whatever lights your fire." he replied with a shrug, "Size?"
      "Twenty-eight long."
      "Shirt?"
      "Extra large."
The man looked to his feet, then up to his face again, thinking, "Neck?"
      Michael blinked, shrugging.
      The guy grinned, "Wrists?"
"Why would he know that?" David asked, sounding slightly irritated.
"Because I'm asking." he replied easily, meeting David's eyes now, "How about you? You're coming, aren't you?"
David blinked, "I hadn't realized I was invited." he muttered.
Those brown eyes became sarcastic, flashing briefly to Michael, "Yeah, I'll invite him, but not you, when you two were walking together."
      David shrugged.
The guy met Michael's eyes again, "Make it four, and bring your cash."
Michael threw him a half-assed salute, turning to the road and checking either direction for cars.
"I'm busy 'til four-thirty." David muttered, not sure what to expect.
"Thanks for the warning. Four-thirty then, Angel-boy."
Michael looked to him sharply, startled.
The guy grinned, starting backwards with his friends, turning his forearm so the cross was more evident, "You get me closer to God." he grinned that infectious grin again, eyes sparkling, then winked, turning his back to the pair and disappearing beyond the trees.
"That was disturbing." David muttered, raising an eyebrow at his friend.
Michael grinned back, starting across the street, "Yet strangely inviting at the same time."
      David snorted.
